Bokaro, Jharkhand – Prime Minister Narendra Modi took aim at the Congress-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) alliance on Sunday, accusing them of trying to divide the OBC (Other Backward Classes) community by creating conflict between its different sub-castes. Addressing a rally in Bokaro, Modi urged the people of Jharkhand to stay united, telling them “ek rahoge toh safe rahoge” (be united to be safe).
The Prime Minister claimed that throughout history, Congress had managed to form governments at the Centre whenever OBCs, Dalits, and tribals were divided. He warned that the Congress-JMM alliance was using these tactics again to gain power. “Until there was no unity among these communities, Congress kept forming governments at the Centre and looted the nation,” Modi said.
Modi further stated that in the Chotanagpur region, where over 125 sub-castes are considered OBCs, the Congress-JMM wanted to break this unity by creating divisions. He urged the people of Jharkhand to stand together, repeating his message: “ek rahoge toh safe rahoge.”
The Prime Minister also addressed the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, criticizing Congress and its allies for their calls to reinstate Article 370, which granted special status to the region. He argued that bringing back Article 370 would put Indian soldiers in danger by exposing them to terrorism once again. “The Congress and its allies want to bring back Article 370 so that our soldiers again face the fire of terrorism,” Modi said.
Modi also took a moment to celebrate the changes in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that for the first time in the region’s history, the Chief Minister had taken an oath in the name of the Indian Constitution – a move he described as a tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision for India.
Turning his focus to Jharkhand, Modi accused the ruling JMM-led coalition of corruption, particularly calling out the “recruitment mafia” and “paper leak mafia.” He promised that the BJP would take strong action against those who had exploited the state’s youth. “Those responsible for the recruitment scams will be sent to jail,” he stated.
Modi also promised that a BJP-led government in Jharkhand would work to eliminate corruption and remove “infiltrators” from the state. His speech came as the state prepares for upcoming assembly elections, with the BJP hoping to make significant gains.
In his rally, Modi made it clear that unity among OBCs, tribals, and Dalits was key to securing a better future for Jharkhand and India.
