In this month’s Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the BJP and Congress are gearing up for a direct showdown on 75 out of 288 seats. The Congress is looking to build on its strong showing in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aiming to secure a significant number of these Assembly seats.
The BJP has strategically placed most of its candidates to challenge Congress, particularly in Vidarbha with 47 candidates, followed by 32 in western Maharashtra, 17 in northern Maharashtra, 19 in Marathwada, and 33 in Konkan, which includes key areas like Mumbai and Thane.
